LEED Platinum for New Construction, 2011
The BEA 347 project received the LEED Platinum Certification for new constructions, becoming the first to reach this level in Latin America. By obtaining 58 of the 69 points available in the v2.2 scale, the Bioconstrucción y Energía Alternativa central office project is located within the top 1% of buildings that achieve this recognition.
LEED Platinum for Existing Buildings, Operations and Maintenance, 2015.
The BEA347 building located in San Pedro Garza Garcia in Nuevo León obtains a second LEED certification specialized in existing buildings reaching, again, the Platinum level, the maximum level within the evaluation scale. The headquarters of the company thus become the first doubly certified building LEED Platinum version v4 in the region of Latin America.
A unique sustainable project of its type
Among the many sustainability strategies applied to the site, there is a rainwater harvesting system, which distributes to the different interior and exterior systems of the building, saving 76%, thus satisfying the consumption of sanitary appliances and irrigation systems. It also has an energy performance 36.6% better than similar buildings, where 13% of the energy consumption of the building is supplied with renewable energy generated on site (photovoltaic panels, solar heater and wind turbine).
In addition, an air conditioning and ventilation system that provides adequate levels of ventilation according to international standards and an education program that consists of offering a tour of the visitors of the offices while explaining the strategies applied to obtain this certification.
